چکیده

Biometric systems are alternates to the traditional identification systems. This paper provides an overview of single feature and multiple features based biometric systems, including the performance of physiological characteristics (such as fingerprint, hand geometry, head recognition, iris, retina, face recognition, DNA recognition, palm prints, heartbeat, finger veins, palates etc) and behavioral characteristics (such as body language, facial expression, signature verification, speech recognition, Gait Signature etc.). The fingerprints, iris image, and DNA features based multimodal systems and their performances are analyzed in terms of security, reliability, accuracy, and long-term stability. The strengths and weaknesses of various multiple features based biometric approaches published so far are analyzed. The directions of future research work for robust personal identification is outlined. Index Terms — DNA Sequence, Fingerprint Patterns, Iris Pattern, Multimodal Systems, Palates

Design of Multimodal Biometrics Authentication using Feature Extraction and Fusion

Multimodal biometric can overcome the limitation possessed by single biometric trait and give better classification accuracy. The present work proposes an authentication system with the fingerprint, face and iris multimodal biometric system based on fusion at the feature level. The performances of fingerprint, face and iris recognition can be enhanced using a proposed feature selection method t...

Rank Level Fusion Using Fingerprint and Iris Biometrics

Authentication of users is an essential and difficult to achieve in all systems. Shared secrets like Personal Identification Numbers (PIN) or Passwords and key devices such as Smart cards are not presently sufficient in few situations. The biometric improves the capability to recognize the persons. A biometric identification system is an automatic recognition system that recognizes a person bas...

Optimized Radial Basis Function Classifier for Multi Modal Biometrics

Biometric systems can be used for the identification or verification of humans based on their physiological or behavioral features. In these systems the biometric characteristics such as fingerprints, palm-print, iris or speech can be recorded and are compared with the samples for the identification or verification. Multimodal biometrics is more accurate and solves spoof attacks than the single...

Hybrid Multimodal Biometric Recognition using Kekre's Wavelets, 1D Transforms & Kekre's Vector Quantization Algorithms Based Feature Extraction of Face & Iris

Face Recognition Systems are becoming ubiquitous and inevitable in today’s world. Being less intrusive and universal face recognition systems serve as good option for access control and surveillance. Iris recognition enjoys universality, high degree of uniqueness and moderate user co-operation. This makes Iris recognition systems unavoidable in emerging security & authentication mechanisms. Var...
